Meet the Team

Pat has worked alongside her dentist husband since the practice was established in September 1976. She has worked in all positions within the office throughout the years except dental hygiene.  Pat currently functions as our Financial Administrator, a role that she has held for many years, as well as serving as the Secretary/Treasurer of the practice corporation.  Pat has been trained in the business side of dentistry at The Schuster Center for Professional Development in Scottsdale, Arizona as well as extensively in customer service during her previous job at South Central Bell.

Pat and her husband of over 41 years are active members of Sevier Heights Baptist Church.  She is lovingly devoted to her family that includes a son, a married daughter and one granddaughter.

Jan joined our administrative staff as our Office Administrator/Patient Coordinator in February of 1992.   Her previous experience as a Legal Secretary and banking Executive Assistant makes her well-trained as the manager at our front desk.  After she began her dental career in our practice she completed an extensive training regimen at The Schuster Center for Professional Development in Scottsdale, Arizona.  She is usually the first person our patients meet via telephone or upon arriving in our office since she functions as our key telephone contact and greeter.  She assists patients in scheduling their appointments, financial matters and filing insurance claims.  Jan is gifted at helping the office to run smoothly and efficiently and keeps our patient records up to date and complete.

Jan and her husband have three grown children and two grandsons.

She and her family are actively involved in their church.  Jan loves UT sports, especially Lady Vols basketball. She usually vacations at a beach destination when all the family can arrange some time off together.

Karen has been a dental hygienist (RDH) in our practice for 25 years.  Her first tour of duty began in 1980.  After a span of years moving around the country as an Army Major’s wife she rejoined our team in 1992 when her husband retired from the Army.  While practicing Dental Hygiene in our office she has been trained along with Dr. Foust in Anti-Infective Periodontal Therapy.  Karen also trained with our team at The Schuster Center for Professional Development in Scottsdale, Arizona. She has obtained an additional Board of Dentistry certification by fulfilling requirements in Dental Anesthesia and specialized radiology training for our dental CT imaging.

Karen and her husband have been married since 1981 after first meeting in her hygiene chair in our office.  She has three married children, a granddaughter and twin grandsons.  Karen likes to fish, garden, and visit the beach.

Karin became a member of our dental assisting team in December 2006. Karin’s dad and uncles are retired dentists so working in and around dental offices has always been a big part of her life. She grew up working for her dad in his practice and later worked in a dental laboratory for 8 years and then in a private office as a dental technician and manager.  After graduating from the Tennessee Technology Center Dental Assisting School in Knoxville she received extensive training at UT Dental School, Memphis where she achieved her certificate as an Expanded Function Registered Dental Assistant/Dental Technician (EFRDA).  Karin has been trained surgically alongside Dr. Foust in implant placement and related surgeries at UT Memphis.

Karin and her husband have been married over 26 years and have three wonderful boys.  She enjoys gardening around her mountain top home, camping and other fun outdoor activities with her family. Karin especially loves car shows featuring vintage Volkswagens.

Jennifer originally joined our team in December 2001 after graduating from Tennessee Technology Center as a Registered & Certified Dental Assistant. After adding 2 more children to her family she took a few years off to raise her children.  She rejoined our team as a chair side dental assistant in December 2013 in a part time capacity.

Jennifer is always eager and more than willing to learn anything new that’s incorporated into the practice.  Gaining knowledge about new advancements in dentistry energizes her. As a seasoned mother of four she easily relates to our younger patients while communicating effortlessly with patients of all ages.

Obviously Jennifer and her husband stay very busy with their large family as well as their church involvement. In addition to cherishing time with her family Jennifer also loves gardening, making crafts, and building and decorating doll houses.
