As we state in our financial policy, we do expect payment at the time we deliver dental care in our office.  However, we will gladly file insurance claims on your behalf for your reimbursement.  Insurance is considered a method of reimbursing the patient for fees paid to the doctor and is not a substitute for payment.  Assignment of insurance benefits may be accepted on major dental treatment such as crowns, root canals, dentures, etc.  In order for us to consider a request to accept assignment, the patient needs to provide us with an explanation of their benefits and any deductible required.  If we choose to accept assignment, we expect the patient’s portion, including any unmet deductible, to be paid at the time of service.  We will be available to help you receive maximum benefits; however, the agreement of the insurance carrier to pay for dental care is a contract between the patient and the insurance carrier, not the doctor.
